- How far in advance should I make my reservation plans?
The sooner, the better. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations to stay at Surrey or arrangements to put units up for rent can be done up to one year in advance. Owners can bank their units with RCI up to 2 years in advance to achieve ultimate trading power for an exchange into prime locations. Requests for reservations and exchanges through the Surrey Vacation Club can be made one year in advance. (Note: All maintenance fees for the year requested need to be paid before a request can be fulfilled.)
- Why can't I stay in the exact unit I purchased? How can the units be booked up during the week that I own if I haven't made my reservation plans yet?
Owners are deeded a specific unit and week number which is how we keep track of inventory. However, "floating time" is how owners are confirmed into a unit exactly like the one they purchased and they may travel during any week similar to the one they purchased. In the Surrey Vacation Club, owners are not limited to prime season or mid-season travel times because they purchase points and points can be utilized anytime. RCI owners who purchased mid-season ownership ARE limited to travel during mid-season at Surrey or off-season at another RCI resort.
- What is and how do I use a bonus week?
Bonus weeks were occasionally included with purchases related to RCI memberships. Bonus weeks are activated and issued upon the owner's request. We hold on to the actual certificates because they all have expiration dates on them. From the time the owner requests their certificates, they have approximately one year before it will expire. Bonus weeks are best used during mid or off-season because they have no trading power, Bonus weeks are utilized for "leftover" inventory and cost the owner a total of $189 for an extra week's vacation.
- How does the rental program work?
Select the dates you would like us to try to rent your unit. Upon confirmation of the dates set for rental, you will be sent a Rental Agreement and you are responsible for returning the signed Agreement to the Branson Office to validate the inventory as a rental. Until this document is received the unit and dates are considered an owner reservation. There is no guarantee on rentals because we have no control of the number of customers we have coming in requesting to rent a unit. At that point, they have the option to come and use the unit themselves or to bank the unit (or points). There are a limited number of units set aside each week throughout the year for rental purposes and it is to the owner's advantage to submit their requests as early as possible.
